AI Search is a WordPress plugin that replaces the default search with an AI-powered semantic search system. Instead of simple keyword matching, it understands the meaning and context of search queries using vector embeddings.
Default WordPress search looks for exact keyword matches. AI Search understands context – so searching for “summer clothes” will find products described as “lightweight breathable apparel” even if they don’t contain those exact words.
Yes! The plugin includes free access to our AI Search Service with up to 10,000 embeddings per site. You can also use your own OpenAI API key if you prefer.
In the future, we’ll provide a PRO version with more embeddings per site and other models that provide better results.
Install and activate the plugin. The Setup Wizard will guide you through configuration. By default, it uses our free AI Search Service – no API key required.
The threshold (0.2-1.0) determines how closely a post must match your search query. Lower values (0.2-0.4) return more results but may include less relevant matches. Higher values (0.7+) return fewer, more precise results. Recommended: 0.3-0.5.
Yes! Enable WooCommerce integration in Settings → AI Search → WooCommerce to include product descriptions, SKUs, categories, tags, and attributes in search.
Yes, text content is sent to the AI service to generate embeddings. No personal user data, passwords, or sensitive information is transmitted. Embeddings are stored locally in your database.
